The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori based Christian formation program that nurtures the spiritual needs of children ages 3-14. CGS allows each child to move at their own pace through age-appropriate themes from the Bible and liturgy. The beautiful handmade materials allow the child an opportunity to meditate on the mysteries of the Christian faith. The place where the children meet is called an atrium. It is a sacred space rather than a classroom. The atrium is much quieter than other Sunday School rooms. It is more like a chapel. At St. Mary’s all our children meet together in the same atrium. Different materials are available to meet the developmental needs of all ages. The atrium is located next to the Church office and is in session Sundays from 9:45 – 11:15 am. All are welcome.
